Final logo and mark for Les Méchantes, a new San Francisco women's lifestyle clothing brand. Born out of a fun night of drinking champagne in Paris, the client wanted an Art Deco aesthetic; the use of a coupe champagne glass; a peach, gold and black color palette (although they ultimately went with black and white); and made reference to the Daisy Buchanan character from The Great Gatsby. This version was inspired by the logo from the movie The Great Gatsby. To achieve an Art Deco aesthetic, I used a font influenced by the Deco period, three lines on the top and bottom of the logotype (a signature Deco gesture), a gilded effect, and the seamless shell background.

I used the three line border for the mark to tie in with the three lines on the top and bottom of the logotype.

For this version, I went with a logotype. I enlarged the scale of the C in this Art Deco font to create a compelling typographic composition. This was helped by the terminal of the C coincidentally crossing the horizontal of the A. Love it when things like that happen!

Another nice coincidence was that (when linked) the C from the logo made an Art Deco style border.
